Backbone Transmission Planner

Role:
You will plan and design the FOC network for new rings taking into consideration the best location for aggregating the access traffic from 2G and 3G sites. You will operate and maintain existing SDH equipment including service provisioning, alarm monitoring and troubleshooting to establish requirements. You will provide second line support to NOC, you will be producing the bills of quantities or the required SDH equipment for the given projects. You will manage the existing SDH capacity and initiate the necessary expansion. You will ensure enough STM-1 and E1 interfaces are available at the BSC, MSC and other network nodes. You will review the statistical data from NMS to ensure smooth operation. You will undertake acceptance of newly installed equipment, you will review and approves SDH performance results, issuing site instructions for the FOC project and implementing SDH projects. You will be supervising assigned staff at the level determined by senior management.
The Person
You have a university degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis on telecom. You have at least 3 years experience in telecoms engineering with an emphasis on: Broad knowledge of SDH transmission systems and essential protection mechanisms. Good knowledge of various SDH equipment, working knowledge O and M of Huawei equipment. You are good in Microsoft application skills and problem solving skills. You have good communication skills (written & spoken English) and excellent project management skills.
