The role is required to bring a sharp commercial focus to the activities and work of the Technology Directorate. This area will be responsible for the collation of all the inputs for the 3 year planning activities for Technology.

The role has a diverse range of activities that include everything from working with capital and operational expenditure budgets to ensuring that Technology is achieving world class commercial performance in all its activities as well as carrying out scenario planning.

The purpose of the role is to ensure that Technology is not only currently running a commercially efficient organisation but is also prepared to meet the challenges within the 50/50/50 programme.

The scope of the role covers all areas within the Technology function.

* Setting the overall strategy and direction for commercial aspects of Technology within the framework lay down by the Finance Directorate. * To define, measure and track key Technology commercial benchmarks and KPIs * Assisting the PMO function with yearly capex builds. To assist in managing and creating yearly top down and bottom up capex budget build in conjunction with the Finance and Business Planning teams * Development of business cases to understand if, how and when technologies should be deployed by O2 * Analysis of alternative network investment scenarios * Compilation of the 3 year Technology business plan * Ensuring capex and opex spend is in line with the Technology IT and Network Strategy * To ensure alignment of Technology commercial reports/KPIs with Telefonica template * To work with the 50/50/50 team in order to manage the commercial aspects of the project, specially ensuring that benefits are quantified, appropriate measures are defined and tracked. * To report commercial measures to SLT and ELT team members * To help with business planning for key activities * To carry out “what if” scenario analysis * To bridge the commercial and technical activities * Creation and validation of business cases for technology evaluation * To manage the staff appraisals, disciplining, pay reviews and career development. * 3-5 years experience of managing a team * Either a financial, commercial or technical background, or a mix of these areas * At least 10 years or more professional experience in Telecoms industry * Office based in Slough
