full time Product Manager, Fixed Mobile Convergence

Accountability/Position Summary

The Product Manager manages the development and delivery of innovative products and services to achieve targeted market share, revenue and direct margin objectives set in revenue plan. Accountable to manage the product performance including setting and executing on product strategy and delivering cross-functional initiative prioritization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop strategy to launch new Fixed Mobile Convergence products within Allstream’s Unified Communications portfolio by leveraging knowledge of products and applications from leading vendors like RIM, Cisco, Avaya-Nortel, Mitel and Microsoft
• Define strategy, goals, criteria and business plan for new product launch
• Develop and execute product roadmap
• Meet revenue and margin objectives for products
• Demonstrate financial viability & value proposition of new products and services
• Develop back end processes for provisioning, implementation and billing
• Work with product marketing to create and deliver “Go To Market” plan and channel strategy

Specific Functional/Technical Knowledge and Skills

• Telecom/IT product management experience
• Strong knowledge of telecommunications protocols and architectures
• Extensive working experience with RIM, Cisco, Avaya-Nortel, Mitel and Microsoft platforms and mobility applications
• Knowledge of wireless service provider environments
• Direct experience with strategic planning process and annual business planning and budgeting is considered an asset
• Financial reporting acumen and ability to communicate portfolio performance
• In-depth knowledge of Canadian enterprise business market
• Familiarity with best practices in Managed Services, Service Assurance frameworks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
