Accountability/Position Summary

The Project Lead – Business Transformation works as a liaison among stakeholders in order to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies and information systems. The Project Lead – Business Transformation understands business problems and opportunities in the context of requirements and recommends solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals.

The successful candidate is expected to be a leader for driving change in the organization, driving solution approaches for strategic key initiatives. This function will be working on strategic business re-engineering projects from a cross functional organizational point of view. These assignments entail extremely complex analysis, covering a broad scope across the ESD organization, often involving tight timelines to deliver. Responsibilities include Enterprise Analysis, Impact and Feasibility Assessments, Requirements Planning & Management, Requirements Elicitation, Analysis and Documentation, Solution Assessment and Validation. Some project management related duties will also be required.

Key Responsibilities

Analyzes Business Requirements:
Analyzes Business, Process and Systems requirements for delivery of optimum business solutions to meet strategic objectives.

Re-engineers Business Processes:
Analyzes current mode of operations and designs future mode of operations, using process engineering tools and techniques.

Assesses and Validates Solutions:
Assesses and proposes strategic business solutions, calculates cost/benefit analyses, recommends alternatives and validates the proposed solutions against operational objectives.

Assures Operational Quality:
Develops and analyses metrics, and scorecards to manage effectiveness of changes.

Manages Project Deliverables:
Meets project deliverables within specified and committed time frames. Co-ordinates project team members, activities and tasks to achieve project objectives.

Specific Functional/Technical Knowledge and Skills

? Proven record of experience working on large scale, complex projects with tangible / referable results
? Proven track record in a leading role, driving projects and leading cross-functional project teams
? Comprehensive understanding of Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
? Comprehensive understanding of Project Management processes
? Self starter
? Highly Organized
? Excellent presentation skills

Other Skills/Competencies/Attributes

Education & Certification:
? Degree or diploma in a Business or Information Technology discipline, or equivalent experience
? Five or more years experience in Business Analysis or equivalent experience
? Education or equivalent experience in Critical Thinking Analysis
? Certification in Business Analysis or equivalent experience demonstrating expertise in all Business Analyst core competencies

Experience:
? Solid understanding of telecommunications services
? Solid knowledge of business case development and cost benefit analysis
? Solid understanding of Telecommunications services and technologies


Subject Matter Knowledge: Broad telecommunications knowledge and a strong understanding of the information technology infrastructure, implementation and maintenance systems. A solid understanding of analytical and operations processes as they relate to the service.

Business Knowledge: Excellent understanding of how the Allstream service serves the customers business. The ability to understand and communicate customer needs and experiences. Able to manage complex business issues.

General Knowledge/Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Highly skilled at managing meetings and other communications. Excellent time management skills to handle the internal business demands and the clients’ multiple points of contact. Sound people management skills. Must be flexible in communication style to present at a strategic and operational level. Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
