Job Description Major Responsibilities:
The National Sales Manager oversees a team of National Account Managers. Responsible for establishing and facilitating long-term relationships with both internal and external customers— in order to meet the sales goals and financial metrics of the Sprint Prepaid Group. National Sales Manager to manage overall relationship with Mass Retail accounts such as Best Buy, Wal Mart, Target, Sprint, Radio Shack, and key regionals resulting in a retail footprint of over 8,000 doors. The National Sales Manager must build strategic relationships with our Retailers via structured Weekly Account calls, Monthly Account Planning meetings, and Quarterly Business Reviews. National Sales Manager is responsible for negotiating corporate-level agreements with headquarters of National Mass retail accounts to include pricing and contract negotiations. Primary objectives for the position are: to achieve quota attainment while managing the profitability of the channel in the best interest of the Sprint Prepaid Group business plan. Ensure that company metrics are achieved. Metrics include (not limited to) Churn, CPGA, and ARPU. Mentor NAM’s in developing joint sales strategies with customers, overall advertising and marketing efforts, maintaining sufficient inventory and manage logistics chain to ensure sales at all retail locations. National Sales Manager will also work closely with the National Field Manager to implement their channel strategy by directing the efforts of the Field Team. Also, oversee all channel planning to include product placement, pricing strategies, new product roll out, and Replenishment activity.
The role of the National Sales Manager is to facilitate this process—serving as leader, manager, liaison, strategist, and support staff:
• Leader when the National Account Managers team need direction
• Manager when the team needs instruction and structure
• Liaison to various departments both inside and outside of the Sprint Prepaid Group organization
• Strategist in assisting the sales organization with future planning
• Support staff for upper management in various tasks
In Summary, the National Sales Manager must ensure that the success of the NAM’s and their accounts is maximized, and that this happens in alignment with the overall metrics that drive our business.
The location for this position is open and can be filled at any Boost/Sprint Prepaid location around the country.
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates should possess:
- At least 5 years experience with local indirect distribution programs and managing regional retail accounts.
- At least 5 years identifying, developing, executing, and managing new channel opportunities.
- At least 5 years experience creating strategic sales plans, budgets, implementing channel strategies, etc.
- At least 5 years experience managing sales teams.
- Indepth knowledge of indirect business programs and mass retail distributors.
