Position Summary:

Manages Sr RF Engineers, RF Engineers and Associate RF Engineers responsible for the RF design and or the RF optimization process for a specific geographic area within a Regional Market. Provides a high quality and high capacity wireless communication network within the budgetary, regulatory and time constraints given. Manages a team of assigned RF Engineers.

Essential Functions:

* Supervises new cell site selection and design to ensure cost effective deployment of wireless system within the constraints of the Lucent Equipment purchase and RF Engineering contracts. * Provides search rings for prospective new sites to contracted firms for assigned area. * Distributes design agenda and goals to assigned RF Engineers. ; Assigns RF Engineers to specific design, growth and optimization tasks. * Reviews and approves all aspects of system design and additional growth sites for assigned area. * Develops traffic forecasts to provision for sufficient capacity within assigned area. * Provides continuous performance analysis of system and prioritize issues for investigation and resolution in assigned area. * Develops plans to meet or exceed network performance KPI’s for assigned area. * Responsible for staffing and managing a team of RF Engineers.

Requirements

Minimum Position Requirements:

* BSEE or directly related equivalent experience/education. * 6 years of related experience in RF design in the wireless telecommunications industry including prior experience in a CDMA environment; prior experience in a leadership role is preferred.
