full time Events and Sponsorships Executive

at Zain in Kenya - Nairobi

Basic Purpose:
Manages and reinforces corporate and brand position internally and externally by managing company events/activities. Provides innovative direction on youth oriented activities and initiatives to meet company goals. Manages and controls pre-defined budgets and produces operational documents as maybe required. Maintains good relations with event Partners and Suppliers so as to achieve the event objectives. Liaises with relevant internal departments when necessary. Monitors the successes and provides key learnings of event, visits various markets and adapts success stories.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Implement assigned activities within plan:
Executes activities as per plan and schedule in consultation with the Corporate Communications Manager taking into consideration the overall plan.
Executes agreed activities, launches and promotional campaigns as per the approved schedule.
Collects and shares signals from the market to enable the company to keep in touch with market developments.
Regularly consults other departments and gathers their views and input into planned activities.
Maintains close interaction with youth; and relevant research so as to build awareness of their needs and perspectives.
May come up with new ideas that contribute to the growth of the segment.
Develop and maintain activity budget:
Tracks expenditure against the approved budget and highlights problem areas for action.
Maintains information and documentation for the segment.
Support the execution of the activity plans for the department:
Involved in the briefing of suppliers.
Follows up to ensure accurate and timely execution of briefs by agencies and suppliers.
Checks for and assesses the impact of activities.
Work closely with other departments:
Involved in sharing brand/promotional activities etc with staff.
Works on special projects as requested.
Competencies & Qualifications:
Qualifications
2-5 years with University Degree in journalism;
2-4 years of experience
IT literacy
Able to operate in a performance driven organization
Knowledge of English and Kiswahili
