M2M Account Manager

Context of the job
KPN Group Belgium is setting up its new Machine-to-Machine (M2M) team and is looking for a M2M Account Manager. As M2M Account Manager you are responsible to develop new national and international M2M business focusing on strategic large national and international organizations that do business in Belgium (incl. rest of KPN’s footprint). You will be working closely out of the Brussels office along with the International M2M team that is established in the Netherland. You take all necessary actions to convince all necessary layers into the customers/prospects organization to make business with KPN and make sure you build long term partnerships. Your key tasks will be to:
- Focus on Belgium and the rest of KPN’s footprint in Europe; establish networking within all KPN Group affiliates at commercial level in order to make them aware about our M2M offer and Services. Define a prospecting list of organizations which are liable to roll-out M2M solutions in the nearby future.
- Carry out analysis of the customers/propects business, including customer drivers and organization, managing eventual change in order to build solid partnerships.
- Determine and put in place the commercial strategy, in line with KPN Group Belgium company objectives, and define the account plans.
- Advise customers on their go-to-market strategy.
- Develop business plans and pull together action plans in order to execute the strategy.
- Establish necessary relationships with customers at all necessary operational and strategic levels, and continuously manage these by matching KPN’s expectations (KPIs).
- Manage the sales process and the people involved in order to succeed in the complete sales cycle.
- Develop new business opportunities by doing proactive sales towards targeted partners agreed by the KPN Group.
Key accountabilities
As M2M account manager you are responsible for identifying, qualifying and managing business opportunities in M2M. Manage the growth that is expected in the next years for M2M in Belgium and the rest of Europe. You will be reporting directly to the Head of Wholesale at KPN Group Belgium and closely cooperating with the International KPN M2M team in The Hague, The Netherlands.
- Develops and directs a sustainable commercial B2B relationship with strategically important and innovative B2B clients through pro-active personal sales and advice.
- Sets the product / service and market development plans.
- Defines business objectives and performance (KPIs) for the assigned portfolio of products.
- Determines the priorities for short and medium term while controlling the critical phases in the lifecycle (introduction, migration, phasing).
- Aligns with the KPN Management on marketing strategy, distribution and sales.
- Creates new, innovative commercial product / service concepts and develops them together with customers, partners and suppliers.
- Aims on delivering revenue, EBITDA, gross & net adds target, ARPU, cash flow, market share and ultimately customer satisfaction.
The individual
Required education level
- Holds a bachelor or University degree, preferably in Business or Engineering.
- Is fluent in Dutch, French and English (both written and oral).
Required previous professional experience
- Has a first relevant sales experience preferably in a B2B environment, selling high-end IT solutions and services.
- History of developing implementing and executing account strategies is required.
- Background in business development and consultative solution selling (eg. IT solutions) is required.
- Knowledge and experience of (technology) product / service development as well as relevant conceptual platforms, systems and processes is an advantage.
- Good general knowledge of M2M and wireless technology is an advantage.
Required technical & professional skills
- Has commercial expertise in managing large complex organizations, at all levels from product managers to top management.
- Has knowledge of business, financial insight and project management.
- Has excellent presentation-, communication- (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
- Has good commercial and entrepreneurial skills in managing large complex (inter-)national accounts at all relevant levels, including top management.
- Has strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.
- Has commercial expertise in managing large complex (inter-)national organizations, at all relevant levels, including top management. Above this you have a very good understanding of business, financial insight and you understand how to manage a project.
- Has a global mindset and perspective combined with an executive level presence and influence skills.
