Software testing & Quality Assurance Engineer

The Software Testing & Quality Assurance engineer drives and delivers testing & quality assurance for the software development area within the team, a suitable individual comes from a background of hands-on technical testing and Q&A preferably within enterprise scale systems. The role requires proactive and structured approach to software quality, testing. Enabling the in-house development team to make informed decisions around the viability of putting software into operation and deliver more complex, high-quality software faster and more cost effectively.
This position requires a significant experience of agile quality assurance (particularly scrum and xp.) Experience is required in prioritizing test cases and leading in the tracking and resolution of test problems and defects. Other requirements include strong interpersonal and communication skills. The position also calls for a good level of teamwork and communication within a cross-functional environment.
Candidates should have a strong skills background across the following areas: – Several years experience in a QA role – Experience with manual and automated testing (preferably using fitnesse and selenium or similar) – Experience of working within a team that builds in a test driven manner – Working within an environment that delivers via continuous integration – Strong technical expertise in java or windows backend technologies – Experience of scripting a plus – understanding of js or ajax a plus – evidence of proactive problem resolution and dependency management – Exposure to .net & Windows technologies (WCF, IIS, SQL Server)

Knowledge and experience
•Testing & QA development experience within Internet businesses
•End-to-end testing, QA & development background including a deep knowledge of software development on platforms.
•Strong evidence of successful project delivery
•Experience of working in open source projects is beneficial.

•Ability to technically interact with both high-profile partners and smaller suppliers
•Ability to establish effective working relationship with colleagues internal and external to VIS
•Effective communication of development status, risks and escalation of issues
