full time HR Consultant

To work with the HRBP team to develop & take ownership for the delivery of all HR activity within the defined area of VGE and VBS and partnering the leadership team members in the development of organisational capability to meet business plans.
This is working with a global customer group of 20+ different countries, predominately based in UK, Europe, Asia Pacific and US. In addition this includes project management of ad hoc HR activity for VGE through consultancy, stakeholder management and operational support.
Essence of Role
Business Partnering
1. Member of the VBS/VGE HR team to provide professional guidance and support to HRBPs on the annual HR calendar.
2. Optimise and continually develop relationships with CofEs in order to provide pro-active HR support to the business. Work closely with representatives of CofEs to develop their understanding of function activity and issues, ensuring output meets operational needs and timescales.
Vodafone People Strategy Planning
3. In conjunction with the HRBPs, develop annual function and department level Employee Engagement/people manager activity plans (People Plans) that reflect the delivery of the Vodafone People Strategy and the longer term requirements, within a consistent planning framework and planning cycle.
4. Use Employee Engagement KPIs to identify issues that require development & resolution. Engage higher level leadership team in developing understanding & ownership of priority areas.
Operational Delivery
5. Provide HR expertise, support, advice & guidance to HRBPs on HR issues that impact the department.
6. Work in partnership with HR Service Centres to respond to queries where a specific functional knowledge is required or as a point of escalation.
7. Work with CofEs to drive solutions and implement.
8. Contribute to the delivery of the HR Function by leading and managing change project work.
Organisational Capability
9. Work with the HR Lead in VGE to influence the functional leadership team to diagnose, plan and implement OD activities providing the tools and knowledge to enable this to happen.
10. Pro-actively use the outputs of the functional Succession Plans & Development Board activity to provide input into the plans for departmental development and talent management
Work with the HR Lead in VGE to continue to enhance the leadership capability of the leadership team, providing coaching and development in skills, knowledge & competence regarding all issues relating to organisational capability.
Role Dimension
• Interaction with high level Leadership Communities, day to day contact at Band E level.
Typical Outputs
• Delivery of BAU activity calendar for the business
• Delivery of employee engagement plans
• Development of departmental people objectives
• Management of monthly headcount reporting in conjunction with O&C
• Deliver webinars on people management topics
Technical/Professional Expertise
• Knowledge of function, able to co-ordinate HR specialist input from a number of sources into the business operation.
• Commercial Acumen - be able to discuss the business at Global level as well as detailed understanding of functional area
• Global HR experience
• Able to coach and develop at a leadership team level and facilitate team development
