Finance Manager, WIreless

Accountability/Position Summary
Acting as the Finance point of contact for the Wireless product at Allstream, providing launch and on-going lifecycle support.
During product launch, this individual will be responsible for identifying Finance business requirements, defining business processes and solutions and be involved in the technical and functional details of projects.
On going, this individual is expected to contribute to the in-depth analysis required for the product evaluations. Involvements will include business case evaluation with a focus on the financial analysis, demand planning, gross profit margin, product lifecycle analysis, product portfolio management, KPI analysis, and financial management reporting. Presentation to Senior Management in the areas of analysis of product lines, re-evaluating existing business cases, adjusting costs, margin, and profitability forecasts, and anticipated lifecycles will also be required.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyze complex business problems and develop requirements
• Define business processes and solutions. Fine tune processes as needed on-goingly
• Act as the finance point of contact for all Wireless related issues. Liaison between the Finance team and the project team from various departments, update the Finance team with the latest developments and ensure all Finance concerns are voiced and resolved to ensure the successful launch of the product
• Business case evaluation and analysis
• Product P&L forecasting and budgeting
• Product life-cycle analysis
• Key metrics tracking and analysis
• Financial management reporting
• Other financial presentations as required
• Ensure program is tracking to business case and/or profitability targets
• Ad-hoc analysis
Specific Functional/Technical Knowledge and Skills
• A solid knowledge of standard accounting practices
• Board understanding of all finance processes and normal requirements (AP, AR, Treasury, Accounting, Budgeting, Commissioning, etc.)
• Strong written and oral communication skills are essential
• Ability to present clear and well support financial analysis is required
• A high level of proficiency with spreadsheets is expected. Knowledge of SAP would be an asset
• Excellent organizational, conceptual and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with all staff in a busy environment and handle concurrent tasks under tight deadlines
Other Skills/Competencies/Attributes
• Excellent written communication, organization, time-management, analytical, process and project management skills
• Energetic, strong work ethic and a dynamic individual
• Highly motivated and willing to work within a fast paced environment
• Ability to work and perform both independently and within a team environment
Education & Certification:
• University degree and Professional Designation in Accounting (i.e. CGA, CMA, CA) or MBA is required
Experience:
• 5 years plus Wireless industry experience
• 5 years plus relevant Finance experience
