RF ENGINEER III

Job Description As a RF Engineer III you will be responsible for providing radio frequency (RF) and/or wireless transmission design.
Major Responsibilities: This position includes network strategy development, vendor management, project management and advanced RF analysis within the Sprint National RF Reporting, Strategy and Benchmarking team. The team's responsibilities include many innovative and challenging programs that ultimately assist in setting the network direction, reporting the network status (internal and competitive positions) and working with Sprint's vendor partners.
This position will require in depth understanding of CDMA 1X and EVDO networks along with abilities to develop software/reporting requirements. Candidates must be experts on the fundamentals of RF Engineering (propagation, antenna theory...) and have a solid understanding of network functionality (including operations, optimization, capacity and coverage) for various OEM vendors and multiple technologies is required.
Qualifications Include: (Job related skills, experience, and education). Four year college degree in EE or related field or equivalent experience. Minimum 7 years of experience in wireless telecommunication industry. Proficient in Microsoft applications (e.g. Excel, Word, Access, and Power Point). Knowledge and working experience of RF engineering tools, software and techniques. Excellent writing and verbal communication skills; must be able to provide written updates for all levels of management, must be able to multitask and be flexible to manage change in priority and tasks.
Basic qualifications include:
• College degree. A combination of education and related work experience totaling 11 years post high-school.
• RF engineering work experience
• Knowledge of radio communications systems, including radio propagation modeling and prediction, microwave path analysis, interference analysis, frequency coordination, cell site equipment layout and parameter definition
• Experience with project management and leadership of project implementation over less seasoned engineers
• Experience using general office applications in order to perform work assignments
• Selected candidate must have valid drivers' license and an acceptable driving history based on Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
