Job Description This position can be filled either in Reston, VA or in Overland Park, KS

Major Responsibilities: Provides subject matter expertise as well as high-level professional and analytical expertise to the National RF organization. Representative duties include: development of optimization methodologies and guideline for the RF layer of the network in relation to optimization, implementation, tools and use of the tools based on company objectives and critical needs, providing support to the markets on optimization and performance related questions and issues, analysis of PM statistics to create specific optimization recommendations for the field, trail new methods and provide lessons learned to the field for network performance improvement. Participate in high level and long range planning.

This position will require in depth understanding of CDMA 1X and EVDO networks. Detail understanding of network parameters, their settings and drivers for various OEM vendors is required. Knowledge of capacity planning techniques, understanding of propagation modeling and system design techniques, understanding of CDMA & EVDO equipment and RF hardware such as combiners, antennas and receivers is necessary. This position will require managing complex projects working in a team environment and other related organization within the company.

Minimum Qualifications: (Job related skills, experience, and education): Four year college degree in EE or related field or equivalent experience. Minimum 7 years of experience in wireless telecommunication industry. Proficient in Microsoft applications (e.g. Excel, Word, Access, and Power Point). Knowledge and working experience of RF engineering tools, software and techniques. Excellent writing and verbal communication skills; must be able to provide written updates for all levels of management, must be able to multitask and be flexible to manage change in priority and tasks. Basic qualifications include:
• College degree. A combination of education and related work experience totaling 11 years post high-school.
• RF engineering work experience
• Knowledge of radio communications systems, including radio propagation modeling and prediction, microwave path analysis, interference analysis, frequency coordination, cell site equipment layout and parameter definition
• Experience with project management and leadership of project implementation over less seasoned engineers
• Experience using general office applications in order to perform work assignments
