Job Description
Develop and perform recurring and ad hoc decision support reporting and data mining in support of Sprint handset upgrade programs and mail in rebate processes. Utilize varied data sources to produce time sensitive, value-add reporting and analysis. Candidate must be able to communicate effectively with end users to ensure that requirements and deliverables are understood and agreed upon, and to present reporting/analysis findings. The candidate will be responsible for the accuracy of all reporting output and will be expected to perform relevant quality assurance. This position requires a unique mix of technical skills and business analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:
The candidate should have 10+ years of professional experience in an IT/Business Analysis environment and a related BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience. The ideal candidate will be an expert in querying using SQL, in developing and implementing database applications using PL/SQL for Oracle, and in running complex reporting in a UNIX environment using shell scripting. Also, the candidate must have a solid understanding of business intelligence concepts and tools and proven business analysis skills. Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite. Candidate must also possess strong written and verbal communication skills, and have the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

The successful candidate will also have the following:

Technical skills
• Expert in developing and implementing database applications on Oracle versions 10g/11g – 8+ yrs experience
• Expert in PL/SQL programming creating and maintaining Stored Procedures, Packages, Functions, Views, Materialized Views, Triggers etc. using advanced PL/SQL concepts – 8+ yrs experience
• Expert in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries – 8+ yrs experience
• Expert in performance tuning – analyzing query plans, query tuning, indexing, partitioning, parallel processing etc. – 8+ yrs experience
• Strong experience in UNIX and shell scripting development for batch process – 6+ yrs experience
• Experience on various Oracle utilities/tools such as SQL*Loader, TOAD, SQL developer etc – 6+ yrs experience
• Working knowledge on Teradata and BTEQ scripting – 2 to 3+ yrs experience

Soft skills
• Ability to troubleshoot issues in applications and provide quick workaround/code fix.
• Proactively identify potential issues with application/data based on application functionality needs and recommend changes as required.
• Develop unit test cases, create test scripts & associated test data and follow testing methodologies to perform unit testing of requirements.
• Strong ability in performing data analysis to create various summary/detailed reports using SQL & PL/SQL
• Knowledge of data modeling and modeling tools such as MS Visio, ERwin etc.
• Ability to create various high level and detailed business/technical documentation.
• Knowledge and use of development methodologies, standards, and procedures.
• Knowledge of version control tools such as Rational Clear case and Visual Source safe Basic qualifications include:
