TECHNOLOGY ARCHITECT III
at Sprint Nextel in Overland Park‚ KANSAS
Job Description
The Technology Architect will be responsible for managing and supporting customer/vendor development teams with integrations to Sprint Web Services at both technical and functional level.
Position is responsible for on-boarding customer on the Web Services Gateway and working through any technical issues Sprint’s business customers/vendors may face during the Web Service integrations. To understand customer requirements and provide solutions based on available enterprise Web Services API. To understand architectural and security issues, learn and grasp new ideas, concepts and try new tools that would help expedite customer/partner integration issues.
To understand and rationally deal with customer/partner pain points as well as push back on unreasonable demands without impacting working relationship. To test new enterprise APIs from interoperability perspective.
Preferred Qualifications:
Extensive knowledge of Web Services Technologies and standards such as SOAP, REST, WS-Security, XML, XSD, WSDL, and XSLT.
Extensive knowledge in developing Web Services client code in Java, .Net, Axis, WCF. Knowledge of Oracle, SQL, J2EE
Preferred knowledge of IBM Websphere Datapower SOA appliances.
Preferred knowledge of Sprint Enterprise APIs
Knowledge of testing enterprise web services API using tools like SOAP UI.
Understanding of SOA concepts
Basic qualifications include:
• Knowledge of complex projects requiring additional specialized technical knowledge and experience making decisions on complex or ambiguous architecture issues
• Experience with project management and leadership of project implementation over less seasoned engineers
• Experience using general office applications in order to perform work assignments
