Finance Manager – Network transformation support

Essence of Role
Impact on the business
• Lead implementation and ongoing activity on Boost programme delivery and tracking of savings initiatives
• Carry out ongoing monitoring of business financial performance indicators as assigned
• Assist GTF management in Technology performance and business reviews
• Create new / perform analysis of business cases and prepare ad hoc financial analysis to provide input to management decision making process for key commercial and investment actions, driving and developing processes for doing so as required
Customers, supplier and third parties
• Lead business analysis projects to deliver high quality results on time as agreed with internal stakeholders
• Manage internal customer expectations in line with agreed objectives
Leadership and teamwork
• Create positive working relationship between the Vodafone Technology Networks, local Technology Controllers and Group Finance teams
• Enable sharing of ideas and knowledge between financial and technical community
Innovation and change
• Identify opportunities and promote best practice sharing in relation to Capex efficiency and Opex reduction initiatives
Knowledge and experience
• leverage existing financial and technical experience to deliver best decision making practice
• drive adoption of sound financial principles across parts of Vodafone Technology buy sharing expertise
Communication
• Build relationships with finance and technology teams and influence at senior levels
• Deal with regular information requests and questions from VTN and Europe Finance, including presenting detailed financial information to senior levels

• Frequent interaction with Operating Companies
• Regular liaison with other Group Functions
• Exposure to senior Finance and Technology management

• Clear communication to OpCo’s on potential best practice sharing opportunities
• Business Case analysis of new technical initiatives
• Financial evaluation of proposed new business cases
Technical/Professional Expertise
Essential
• High Calibre professional with proven experience in a Technology or Finance Department within Vodafone , ideally with an Operating Company
• Strong mobile/fixed communication technology understanding and awareness
• Proven ability to communicate and work well with senior management
• Ability to gather relevant data from different sources and provide timely, accurate and relevant analysis. Ability to identify and solve inconsistencies in data obtained
• Ability to extract key messages/ ideas from complex and detailed data and to recognise improvement opportunities
• Financial analysis and Budgetary control
• Financial modelling and business case evaluation
• Ability to interact and manage stakeholders at all levels
• Strong prioritisation and organisational management skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills at all levels
• Cross cultural awareness

• Direct OpCo experience in managing key Network cost categories ( Payroll, Leases and Rentals, Leased Lines, Energy & Other, Maintenance)
• Proven track record in delivering cost reduction programmes
