full time HR Manager, Retail

at Bell Canada in Calgary, AB, CANADA

Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Regional HR Manager- Retail is responsible for providing support and counsel to their Regional client group on various employee relations issues, supporting HR processes and procedures, equal and fair treatment and ensuring execution of programs across the region. The client group will be the Sales Director, Regional Managers, Store Managers, Assistant Managers and all front line employees within the Corporate Stores – Bell, Solo and Virgin Mobile.





Responsibilities:



Supports all HR related issues and inquiries

Issue resolution

Employee Relations

Complaints – Conducts HR Investigations

Ensure consistent execution of the Progressive Discipline process

Serves as the health and safety expert for the province;

Follows up on all Disability leaves and is the regional liason for Manulife Disability Management Case Workers



Supports the execution and delivery of all Corporate HR Programs into the Corporate Stores Channel

Performance Management Process – Mid Year and Year End review processes

Reviews PMP Templates forms for front line employees annually;

Provides PMP training and coaching to store managers;

Follows up on front line employee reviews;

Responsible for performance evaluation roundtable

Leadership Profile – support communication, understanding and adoption

Bell Team Survey

Facilitates process to develop action plan for management based on survey results for management;

Does regular follow-up on management action plan;

Follows up action plan with individual stores;

Promotes survey among store employees;



Provides resources to support people management best practices

Reporting on key metrics on a monthly basis to client groups- attrition, turnover, overtime and absence reports

Analyze data and create reports as required for various projects/programs

Follows up on employee file compliance & various tracking templates



Provide HR Training to all Management

Responsible to train new Store Management within the first 3 months of hire:

HR policy, procedure and Infonet resources

HR Programs – i.e.: Performance Management



Drive Succession Planning and People Development

Establishes succession plans for the following positions: regional managers (RM), store managers, and assistant store managers;

Develops activities and processes that support employee development regionally

Ensures adoption of National Development Plan for Retail

Meets with management to review previously established employee development plans for employee succession planning

Coaches store managers;

Follows up on previously established development plans

Facilitates Talent “Round Table Discussions” at review time





Working Conditions:

Monday to Friday during regular business hours

Flexible to travel throughout the territory, and nationally for meetings and investigations



Qualifications:

2-5 years experience in an HR Role

Knowledge of HR legislation and best practices

Passion for people and pro-active people practices

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Proficiency with software applications (Microsoft Office)

Excellent Interpersonal Skills

Facility for establishing relationships with others

Ability to manage multiple tasks; and plan/organize with little supervision

Self-starter with entrepreneurial spirit and internal customer service focus

Facilitation skills would also be an asset

Retail Management Experience an asset
