On May 7, 2008, Clearwire Corporation and Sprint Nextel Corporation entered into a definitive agreement to combine their next-generation wireless broadband businesses to form a new wireless communications company to expedite the deployment of the first nationwide mobile WiMAX network.

In conjunction with this agreement Intel Corporation (through Intel Capital); Google Inc.; Comcast Corporation; Time Warner Cable Inc; and Bright House Networks have collectively agreed to invest $3.2 billion into the new company.


Platform Manager

Clearwire is looking for a Platform Manager to drive the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Wholesale processes, systems and network infrastructure. This person will work cross functionally and with external partners to assess and prioritize business needs, develop a platform roadmap to address these needs and deliver to plan. Responsibilities:

• Create a Wholesale Platform Roadmap and develop the underlying project plans required to evolve the solution and deliver against partner requirements.
• Manage multiple, concurrent projects through the development, implementation, and maintenance lifecycle.
• Ensure successful implementation of the processes, systems and network components that comprise the Wholesale solution.
• Actively communicate Wholesale Platform capabilities and status with key stakeholders.
• Represent the Wholesale Platform in internal and external meetings.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to create effective solutions to meet the Wholesale partner needs
• Closely work with Clearwire’s partners to gather their expectations of Clearwire’s products and services
• Facilitate trade-off decisions between cost, schedule, functional scope, and quality
• Establish an excellent working relation with partners.
• Proactively assist with Partner issue resolution, enhancement request processing and support provision.



Qualifications:

• Multiple years experience as a Platform Manager, Wholesale Manager, Technical Program Manager, Project Manager, or related title preferably within the wireless or telecom industry
• Proven history of successfully managing the conversion of systems, preferably billing systems such as Amdocs
• Demonstrated ability to deliver large projects to scope and schedule expectations.
• Exceptional troubleshooting, problem resolution, and customer management skills and abilities
• Solid understanding of technical issues with the ability to effectively communicate technical issues to non technical members of the team
• Ability to deliver results while balancing multiple, competing priorities
• Strong advocacy for change management principles
• Very strong written and verbal communication as well as excellent leadership
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• PMP certification is preferred
